Embed Youtube using SSL

#1

Many K-12 schools block youtube video because students watch stupid videos and waste bandwidth. But there are many educational videos on Youtube, and they are sometime perfect to use in presentations. Using SSL can bypass the block, at least in my school.

Current work around: save youtube video using keepvid, then upload the saved video to Prezi.

Yeah, we are ware that some institutions find it better to censor, than to teach fair use. It’s a social problem that we can’t really solve well with tech. I have added your suggestion to the list, I personally like it a lot. But being realistic, the responsible people in your school also need to be convinced of the negative side effects their own technical “solution” to a social problem has.
